Abstract

Results obtained from recent Monte Carlo studies of site percolation on large two-dimensional lattices are briefly reviewed. Evidence supporting the predictions of scaling theory for the cluster-size distribution at and near the critical concentration pc is presented, and the important role of the boundary conditions demonstrated. Extension of the method to the study of other properties of percolation clusters is proposed.
