Abstract
It is frequently found that the AC component of the electrical conductivity of disordered solids is proportional to the nth power of the frequency, where n is close to unit. A simple formula is derived for the dependence of n on temperature, for systems in which the conductivity can be regarded as a classical activated process with a distribution of activation energies.
