Abstract
The series-connected lossy Josephson transmission line (JTL), constructed basically from Josephson junctions, capacitors, and resistors, is considered. The continuum approximation equation describing the JTL is derived. From the latter, equations describing pump, signal, and idler interaction are derived, and the thresholds for the parametric amplification are calculated.
