Abstract

The Booster Method for improvement of the numerical solution of partial differential equations by the addition of asymptotic corrections to the right hand side is presented. It is applied here to the diffusion-convection equation for the case of 'small' diffusion. The correction terms were used in finite difference and finite element schemes. The finite element results were used as reference for checking the performance of the finite difference schemes.
