Abstract

We report a case of perforated appendicitis in a premature neonate. The illness was temporally related to the intravenous administration of indomethacin. The presumptive diagnosis before surgery was necrotizing enterocolitis. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have previously been implicated in the etiology of appendicitis in adults.
