Abstract
Mitigation of carbon chemical erosion by seeding of Be in the plasma is observed at the divertor simulator PISCES-B. The 3D Monte-Carlo ERO code is applied to model this effect. The time evolution of the process is modelled based on different surface models. The influence of various effects such as the plasma parameters, target biasing and carbide formation on the Be transport and the mitigation of carbon chemical erosion is investigated.
