Model checking basics

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Model checking is a collection of methods for the automatic verification of (often, finite state) systems based on automata and logic principles. We present the basic principles of modeling a system, specifying its properties and applying verification algorithms. We present several methods for combating the challenge of coping with the state space explosion problem.
