Abstract
This paper explores milieu therapeutic work with a population of emotionally disturbed adolescent and young adult women. The rigidity of thinking and defensive posture of these women is discussed. Therapeutic and religious boundaries are defined and explained. Two vignettes illustrate how professional therapeutic work can be done with this unique population.
