Abstract
The magnetic circular dichroism of carbon disulfide in the gas phase was measured in the 1550-1620-Å region. Derivative-like signals as well as regular line-shape bands were observed. The spectrum is interpreted as revealing two origins of the π → 4p Rydberg transitions.
