Abstract

Laser action is demonstrated through numerical simulations in a localizing bi-dimensional highly scattering system with gain. A numerical model which introduces the wave automation to describe time dependent wave propagation in random media was used to perform the simulations. The density and index mismatch have been chosen to exhibit localization at wavelengths much larger than the mesh size.
