Abstract
Xavier Dolan´s film Heartbeats (2010) deals with thesubject of love and desire under their different forms.There, along with the statements of some young peopleabout their romantic experiences, he recreates thetypical story of two friends who fall in love with thesame person in a contemporary code. The mainpurpose of this work is to analyze some aspects oflove-madness which are tackled in this film in the lightof the reflections on the same subject by somephilosophers: Roland Barthes, Alain Badiou and,above all, Plato with his description on the power ofErôs and his conception of what philosophy is
