Abstract

We investigate line shapes of single molecules in low temperature glass based on the standard tunneling model. Using the Kubo-Anderson line shape theory, and numerical simulations, we show that the cumulants of the lines are distributed according to Lévy stable laws. Thus the generalized central limit theorem is applicable to this problem.
