    Abstract

In this article Ilan Greilsammer brings us up to date on the current state of the Israeli / Palestinian conflict in the winter of 2024–2025. Dozens of Israeli hostages continue to be imprisoned by Hamas in cages and underground chambers. The Gaza strip is totally destroyed and the new American president Donald Trump seems to be the only important actor in this crisis. The status of the “peace camp” in Israel at the moment is very discouraging and the two state solution is hardly spoken of.
