Abstract

The N₂SO ligand, bis(N-methylimidazol-2-yl)-2-methylthio-ethanol (L), when coordinated to Fe³⁺ or Fe²⁺, undergoes a radical C-C bond cleavage in air, to form bis(N-methylimidazol-2-yl) ketone (Me₂-BIK).
