Abstract

The radiation behavior of single phase B2 AlFeCoNi alloy was studied using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Same samples were characterized prior and post irradiation. TEM samples were irradiated by Ar + ions at 1016, 1017 and 1018 ions/cm2 doses, keeping the rate of 6.2 *1015 ions/cm2s. At all stages, AlFeCoNi samples remained crystalline and preserved the initial B2 structure. As the dose increased, multiplication of dislocations occurred, elevating the density and forming new dislocations with different Burgers vector. At the higher dose, dislocations rearranged into walls and networks, and recrystallization occurred.
