Introduction to the issue on lasers in biology

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

An overview of articles focusing on the use of lasers in biology featured in the December 1996 issue of the periodical 'IFEF Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics,' is presented. Papers cited includes a review of several developments in the field of optical sectioning fluorescence microscopy by multiphoton excitation by Wokosin et al, construction of multiple beam optical tweezers by Visscher et al, and presentation of a different laser-based technique that can be used to study the structure and dynamics of motor proteins by Selvin.
