Abstract

This chapter introduces readers to the fundamentals of a rapidly developing area of materials science and engineering. Magnetic polymer composites (MPCs) are a relatively new class of materials that combine magnetic and polymeric characteristics. Fundamental concepts regulating MPCs are elucidated in this chapter, with an emphasis on the dynamic between magnetic nanoparticles and polymer matrices. It investigates the synthesis techniques that allow for the tunable dispersion of magnetic particles within polymers. Many other fields, including biology, electronics, energy, and environmental remediation, are mentioned as possible destinations for MPCs. Key issues including scalability, stability, and theoretical knowledge are also discussed in this chapter, laying the groundwork for future explorations of the problems and prospects of this fascinating topic. Overall, this chapter provides an in-depth introduction to MPCs, laying the framework for a more in-depth investigation of their many characteristics and revolutionary potential.
