Abstract
This paper examines spatially multiplexed interference in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) networks having partial-zero-forcing (PZF) receiver. The PZF receiver constitutes an efficient, low complexity way to handle interference. The PZF is applicable to modern and future wireless networks and can be subjected to performance analysis. It is shown that increasing the number of interfering data streams (at constant total interference power) causes the quality of link to degrade. As straightforward as this observation may appear, there is no proof for PZF receivers in the literature. Here, analytical proof for PZF receivers is provided, and confirmed by simulations. This result clearly point to the importance of optimizing the number of data streams at each transmitter in MIMO networks.
