Abstract
This study explores how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) supports motivation and satisfaction among adult learners enrolled in an English-Medium Instruction (EMI) course in a non-English-dominant context. Quantitative data were analyzed using moderated mediation models grounded in SelfDetermination Theory (SDT). Results indicate that satisfaction significantly predicts motivation and fully mediates the effects of engagement and positive attitudes toward EMI. These preliminary findings provide meaningful directions for future research on inclusive, GenAI-supported EMI environments in higher education.
