Abstract

Experimental and theoretical data on the IR spectra and molecular structure of amidoamidines were obtained. The structure and energies of the simplest representatives of the amidoamidine series were calculated by the molecular mechanics method. It is shown that in solution these compounds exist as equlibrium mixtures of several molecular forms. The newly synthesized compounds were found to occur mainly in the trans form stabilized by the intramolecular hybrogen bond C(O)⋯HN.
