Abstract

Inelastic scattering of low‐energy electrons on the surface of a semi‐infinite crystal with excitation of electrons localized in a surface potential well is considered. The analytical expressions for the electron inelastic scattering cross‐section as a function of initial energy, incidence and scattering angles as well as potential well parameters are obtained. It is shown, that the peaks of the cross‐section angle dependence are determined by the energy spectrum of electrons localized in the potential well.
