Abstract
The shift of the Kosterlitz-Thouless critical temperature in a thin superconducting film due to an external electric field is calculated. It is shown that this shift is much larger than the shift of the superconducting BCS critical temperature and depends strongly on the polarity of the external electric field. It is shown that the resulting current-voltage characteristic in the electric field depends on the polarity of the electric field.
