Abstract

Mild and efficient procedures employing inexpensive reagents (imidazole or trifluoroethanol) for the removal of excess (BOC)₂O, usually used during NH or OH protection at room temperature, are described. The use of polymer-based DMAP with or without TFE was also found to be attractive.
