Abstract
A model for the hybridization dynamics of surface immobilized DNA oligomers was presented. The probability of overlap between complementary probe and target regions was estimated as a function of probe density and chain length. It was observed that stronger interaction of probe molecules resulted in fewer number of accessible nucleation sites. Nucleation sites which were near the grafted end of the probes were found to be the least accessible.
