Abstract

Shamir and Korat present an evaluation questionnaire that teachers can use as a guide in judging the quality of CD-ROM storybooks. They also review the literature, citing the need for teachers to evaluate e-books before using them in class, and present an assessment of a CD-ROM storybook to demonstrate use of the evaluative questionnaire. The wide availability of these storybooks and their highly variable quality make it vital that teachers become adept at assessing their potential as supports for literacy development.
