Abstract
A procedure for performing modulation measurements of the coefficient of thermal expansion at high temperatures based on interferometric recording of the oscillations of the length of the specimen is developed. The measurements are performed on specimens in the form of wires or thin rods. The results of the measurements of the coefficient of thermal expansion of platinum in the temperature range 1200-1900 degree K are close to values obtained previously.
