Abstract

Coupling of noble-metal nanoparticles (NPs) into electronics might lead to interesting new avenues in nanoelectronics. It was found that currents through metal//organic (or inorganic) insulator/Au NP monolayer//metal planar junctions (2) are orders of magnitude higher than what is obtained without the NP monolayer (1).
