Abstract
A problem of scheduling a transportation robot in a production line with uncertain input data is considered. The data are presented by fuzzy numbers. A heuristic algorithm based on operations over the fuzzy numbers is developed. In the case of exact input data the algorithm produces an exact solution, its complexity being O(m3), where m is the number of workstations in the line. The fuzzy algorithm has been tested on real-life problems, and turned out to work better than the random search and FIFO-type heuristics.
