Funding
and development follows the 13th AFD–World Bank Migration and Development Conference that took place online under the auspices of the World Bank in September 2020. The conference is part of an annual series jointly sponsored by the Development Economics Research Group of the World Bank and the Research Department of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). The conference series began at the University of Lille in June 2008. Each year since, the conference takes place at a different location, generally alternating between Europe and the United States. Past locations included the World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC (for the 2009 and 2015 conferences), the Paris School of Economics (2010), the Harvard Center for International Development (2011), the AFD headquarters in Paris (2012), Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco (2013), Oxford University (2014), the Migration Policy Center of the European University Institute in Florence (2016), the Center for Research on International Development at the Université Clermont-Auvergne (2017), the Stanford Center for Global Poverty and Development (2018), the Department of Economics at Universidad Carlos III Madrid (2019), and, finally, the online conference for the 2020 edition.
