Abstract
Endomorphism rings of finitely presented modules over semiperfect rings are studied, leading to a Krull-Schmidt decomposition theory of modules for finitely generated modules over complete semiperfect Noetherian rings. An example is given of a local non-Noetherian ring having a finitely presented module with pathelogical properties.
