Abstract

In this paper we present special optical device for detection of acoustic signal and especially speech signals, as well as allocating the position of the speaker. The idea includes realization of fiber-based plurality of Mach-Zehnder interferometers while each operating at different optical wavelength. The interferometers showed the capability of detecting the speech signals. Extraction of the wavelengths gives indication regarding to the location from which the signal is originated. Initial experimental results are presented. As future step the proposed concept can be realized as an in-fiber device.
