Abstract

Ajar full of dried figs (Reg. No. 5795.01; Fig. 6.51; 6.74: 4) was discovered within olive-oil Installation F601. The jar was found smashed under a large, smooth stone, which together with two similar stones presumably served as press weights in the installation (Fig. 6.37). Indeed, a preliminary analysis revealed many olive pits within the debris lying on the bottom of Installation F601. The circumstances under which ajar full offigs was placed in the installation and covered by the press stones are unclear.
