ESR spectrum of Ir4+ in single crystals of MgO

Abstract

The ESR spectrum of Ir4+ in MgO was measured at 3 cm wavelength and 77°K. The spectrum fitted a cubic spin Hamiltonian, H = gβH·S+AI·S, with S = 1 2, I = 3 2, g = 1.7385 ± 0.0015, 193A = (26.7 ± 0.5) × × 10-4 cm-1 and 191A = (25.0 ± 0.5) × 10-4 cm-1.
