Abstract

The work “Entanglement” is a unique musical game-composition that is based on the recording of four members of the ensemble: Flute- Margarita Timoshin, Viola- Amit Landau, Cello- Ori Ron, Vibraphone- Oded Geizhals.
The players were asked to improvise 3 different short phrases on 48 different graphic notations. All the 570 recording materials were spectrally analyzed using unsupervised machine learning and was projected in a 2-dimension point map.
The conductor Ilan Volkov wore a unique ring controller on his hand in order to capture the conducting movements. The hand positions allowed him to play with the different clusters and create unique musical textures.
