Abstract

Three periodic microstructures of identical spheres of the benign metal embedded in high quality thermoelectric host was studied. These structures were having cubic point symmetry under rotations: simple cubic (SC), body centered cubic (BCC), and face centered cubic (FCC) arrays. Decoupling transformation was applied to transform coupled-fields thermoelectric transport problem into uncoupled conductivity-like problems in two different composites with same microstructure. Results showed that microgeometry of BCC and FCC is closer to that of the coated spheres assemblage.
