Abstract

The enhanced cathodoluminescent properties of zinc oxide (ZnO) encapsulated ZnS:Ag phosphors was discussed using an electrochemical deposition coating. The particle size of the as-synthesized ZnO particles was estimated to be below 10 nm from x-ray powder diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis demonstrated the presence of ZnO particle layers on the surface of ZnS:Ag particulate.
