Abstract

This paper constructs estimates of the price elasticity of energy consumption in LDCs. It also studies the effect of omitting the price variable from energy consumption equations on the estimates of the income elasticities and updates estimates of this income elasticity to test the stability of the energy-GDP relationship during the period 1970-1978.
