Abstract

The highest matter consumption (31.20 mg.isopod.d) occurred when isopods were fed on soil crust; the highest energy flux (165.36 joule.isopod.d) occurred when isopods were fed on soil + Hammada scoparia; the protein budget was positive only when isopods were fed a mixture of soil crust, H. scoparia and Erodium hirsutum; both the energy and the protein balances were negative when the diet was composed of soil crust alone. -from Author
