Abstract

A method of anodic electrosynthesis of polyparaphenylene (PPP) in concentrated sulfuric acid which uses no catalysts was proposed. The electrochemical properties of PPP were studied in base-electrolyte solutions without and with nucleophilic species. The nature of electropolymerization and the redox activity of PPP were studied with respect to the influence of electron-donating properties of the solvent.
