Abstract
CuInS films on Ti substrates were prepared by electrodeposition from aqueous solutions of CuCl, InCl3, thiourea, triethanolamine and ammonia. The as-deposited layers were annealed in Ar. A subsequent heat treatment in H2S further improved the photoresponse of the layers. X-ray powder diffraction showed the annealed layers to be mainly CuInS2 with chalcopyrite structure, with at times, some CuIn5S8 mixed in. Photoelectrochemical characterization of the layers in aqueous polysulphide electrolyte includes (photo)current-potential behaviour, spectral response and output stability behaviour.
