Abstract

Poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) films deposited from benzene in concentrated H2SO4 emulsion reveal a highly crystalline structure under TEM, SEM and XDA in contrast to nearly completely amorphous films deposited from C6H5NO2 medium. Possible effects of solvent and electrolyte specificity on the morphology and mechanical properties of PPP films are discussed in view of these results.
