Abstract
The electrical field outside a neutral disordered metallic grain is theoretically studied. The zero-temperature-averaged mean-square electrostatic potential is estimated, and temperature, Fermi energy, and magnetic-field dependence are evaluated. It is shown that although the grain is neutral a small dipole moment due to the disorder will be present.
