Abstract

Photon correlation spectroscopy of light scattered from a gel immersed in a solvent batch was carried out to study the variation of the density distribution of the gel following the application of a thermodynamic force (temperature change). Gels were prepared by mixing cyclohexane with styrene, divinylbenzene, and recrystallized benzoyl peroxide. Measurements on the gel were made at 45°C and at 15°C scattering angle with respect to the direction of the incident beam.
