Abstract

This paper provides evidences that the Mexican translation of Josep Carner’s Nabí exerted a notable influence, to this day to be analyzed, on authors such as Juan Ramón Jiménez, Alí Chu-macero and Octavio Paz. By way of their poems, these authors established an implicit dialogue with the work of the Catalan poet based on divergent positions regarding the conceptualizations contained in Nabí, which scope ranges from the veiled radical opposition displayed in Espacio to the simila-rities and allusions of several kinds found in «Responso del peregrino» and in Piedra de sol. The main developments and features of this poetic dialogue are shown in this work.
