Abstract

The effect of crystallographic surface inhomogeneity of polycrystalline electrodes on anion electroreduction kinetics was examined. It is shown theoretically that corrected Tafel plots for the reduction of anions of the S//2O//8**2** minus type should not coincide for different polycrystalline electrodes with pronounced crystallographic surface inhomogeneity. An analysis of experimental data for the polycrystalline silver electrode fully confirms this result.
