Effect of absorption on long-range correlations in random media

Abstract

We show that the presence of absorption in a random system modifies qualitatively the functional form of the long-range spatial and spectral correlations. Our results are in quantitative agreement with a recent experiment by Genack, Garcia, and Polkosnik.
