Abstract
Double quantum scattering of an X-ray photon into two quanta of lesser energy is computed for bound (real) electrons. The coherent (double Thomson) and incoherent (double Compton) contributions are considered separately and the important new features that emerge from a bound, as opposed to a free, electron calculation are emphasized.
