Abstract

1. During photolysis of frozen solutions of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-1,4-benzoquinone with a series of piperidone derivatives, radical pairs are formed and stabilized which have very close characteristics of EPR spectra for all the studied systems. 2. In the studied systems, the photoreduction process occurs within donor-acceptor complexes formed during interaction of the unshared electron pair of the N atom of the amine and the π system of the quinone ring.
