Abstract
Dominance of fermi-surface holes in p-type tunneling was presented. In-plane uniaxial stress was used to tune the mixing between the light hole (LH) and heavy-hole (HH) states in a p-type double-barrier structure. The HH2 and LH1 resonant tunneling peaks shifted at almost the same rate with stress, in contrast to the corresponding exciton peaks. Results showed that the flow of holes through off-zone center states dominated the resonant tunneling current in p-type structures.
