Abstract

This special issue of the “Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology” examines transitions from an informational perspective. The 10 papers included in this issue present diverse accounts of how people experience personal and professional transitions and the role of information within these transitions. In this editorial, we place these contributions within the wider context of the study of transitions, and provide a thematic analysis of these contributions, their methodological and theoretical approaches, and how issues of space, time, emotions, and agency appear within transitions.
